CPHS to Crown Sandite King and Queen on May 14th

Charles Page High School will announce the 2023-2024 Sandite King and Queen on May 14th. The Sandite King and Queen Award is a prestigious award given to the top two candidates of the senior class of 2024. The award is based on the student’s academic performance, teacher recommendations, and campus involvement.

Joel Hendricks participates on the varsity soccer team and received the nomination for the top five king candidates. Joel says that he thinks it’s “awesome” and feels “blessed to have been nominated.” 

“I feel like I’ve worked pretty hard for this. I have good grades, I’m in a lot of extracurriculars, and I think it’s really cool that I was nominated,” said Miriam Wilbanks, a senior nominated for Sandite Queen. She is in NHS, and a top student in the graduating class of 2024. 

Caitlin Shipman has been an active participant in CPHS extracurriculars. She has participated in both band and tennis. Caitlin says that she is, “very honored” to receive the Sandite Queen nomination. 

Evyn Morrow has been a role model in athletics participating in both volleyball and soccer. She is “honored that she got the opportunity to be nominated.” 

“It’s an honor, and a surprise. I didn’t really expect to be up there, and I’m really grateful to my peers for their support,” said Obadiah Dobbs, a senior, and editor and chief of Page-by-Page as well as the CPHS Sandtonian.
